SIMPGB.ZIP is a simple guest book with many nice and useful features.
It is being added to the Furtopia tools for users who wish a good guest
book that is not to hard to install.  You can find the latest version of

Features include: Data stored in MySQL, admin interface, support for
multiple languages, support for multiple instances in one database,
multiple layouts, own header can be defined, support of BBCode and smilies,
flood protection, IP banlist, bad word list, admins can write comments on
posts and decide which input fields to display and which of them are
required, support for avatars, email notification upon new posts, optionally
validate new posts before they get visible by public, option to mark
posts as private, search entries, admin can attach file to post and option
to let users send emails directly in guest book.

Not bad for a guest book eh? ;)

HOW TO INSTALL ON YOUR FURTOPIA ACCOUNT:

1) First if you have not had one created e-mail admin2@furtopia.org and
request a mySQL database for your website.

2) Once you have your mySQL account download http://www.furtopia.org/tools/simpgb.zip
and unzip it to a directory on your hard drive (I suggest the directory name
"sg" for Simple Guest book but any will do).

3) Upload your unziped directory (including all files/subdirectories) to your
web site to access like this: http://www.cajunfox.furtopia.org/sg

4) Run mkconfig.php Ie: http://www.{yourdomain}.furtopia.org/sg/admin/mkconfig.php
Fill out the form.  Note the field ":" and "Databaseuser:" should have the
same answer.  I also suggest checking "Send emails through SMTP" and
put mail2.furtopia.org in "Name of SMTP server".  When finished hit the
"Submit" button.
Note2: After hitting "Submit" if you see any check-boxes that say "try to
correct problem" then check then and click "OK".

5) Next run http://www.{yourdomain}.furtopia.org/sg/admin/install.php
Fill out your account boxes and leave the check boxes unchecked.  When
finished click "Submit".

6) You have now finished installing.  You should now delete these files in
the sg/admin folder.  mkconfig.php, install.php, upgrade*.php, and fill_*.php.
Once finished your guest book is now ready for your users to explore and for
you to customize!  You can read the docs if you like

If any user honestly gives an effort to install this script and fails they
may request staff at admin2@furtopia.org and we will install it/finish
installing it for you.
