For many of you who have been having problems with your acer one network manager going dead (we lot our wireless AND wired) here is a possible fix. This fix worked for me but I offer no guarantee that this update will work and there is even a chance it could make things worse. So apply this update ENTIERLY at your OWN RISK. Ok now the legal is out of the way. On studying the problem on our Acer One I noticed that the Network Manager was crashing out. Well being (and this is a great thing) that we are running Linux we have the option of installing updated Linux software software or in our case Network Manager. As a added bonus this update also includes support for WPA2. Cudoes to the original coder of this patch! Instalation: Ok, I will write this for the newbies using an extra windows machine as I know not everyone is a linux guru. For you linux grurus you KNOW how to handel a little zip file. ;) First the Acer One has no drives so we are going to have to either place our needed files on a thumb drive or memory card to get them onto the Acer One. First download acerone-network-fix.zip onto your windows computer. With windows explorer navigate into (by double clicking on the file) the zip file. Highlight all the files (hold shift and click) and then right click and chose "copy". Next nagigate to your usb memory stick or memory card with windows explorer. Now chose "paste" to get the files from the zip into the removable media. Remove the media and place it into your Acer One. This should cause a File Manager window to open. Navigate to the files you unziped and (PAY ATTENTION HERE) navigate the mouse to a empty space not over one of the file icons but in the same window. Right-click and chose "Open Terminal Here". Now type ./wpa2-enterprise.sh and press ENTER. Follow the instructions and reboot. That should hopefully fix everything. Note: I strongly recomend you click on setting and then "Live Update". Update everything you can and keep checking till there are no more updates! Linux friendly dude...
