"Invocation"
by: Lycan Taris T wolf

In a long ago time, when gods ruled man, a dragon watched over this ill gotten land. The men he slaved and worked to death, did vow to him on their dyeing breath.

"Oh dragon lord, of evil heart. Though my spirit and body part, I curse you this, my dyeing wish, cast your soul to the abyss."

The dragon laughed with his wicked ways, and pass on evenings, nights and days. And on one morn was the sun rose high, through the valley was heard the dragons cry. His slaves did do for what they said, and cursed the dragon till he was dead.

"My friends" the leader slaved did scream "Finally were free from that nightmarish dream. The dragon sleeps beneath us all, curled in his defiant ball. Now peace can return to our land, the dragon slain by our own hands."

The news went out to valleys far, that the slaves had stopped the dragons heart, and freed themselves from his ways, and rid themselves of their slavery days.

"Do not rejoice so fast my friend." said a frail voice, from a withered man. He walked to the leader who simply smiled, and looked down, at the elder retired. "The dragon maybe sleeping here, but his wrath you still should fear, for a time well come, when he will reawake and all our souls, well be his to take."

"Come old one, back to your home. The dragon's dead, he'll no longer roam. He'll no longer trouble us, we've ended his days. Here we stand atop his grave."

The old man turned and walked away. "mock me now, but remember this day. For when the dragon dose return, this site well surly be your grave."

The crowd just laughed at the elders words, for surly his mind was disturbed. How could something dead hurt them here, they had nothing at all to fear. They laughed and danced till the day turned to night, and made a fire to cast a light.

The day did dawn and the men were sleeping, upon the ground they fell while drinking. Slowly they awoke in a daze, gathered their things in the mornings haze. They traveled back to town very fast, so they could receive their hero's welcome at last.

They arrived at the draw bridge which lowered to revel, gates made of iron and laden with steel. The town seemed to barren to be their home, threw the gates they could see, only barren stone. They called out to see if anyone would respond to their questioning voices, but all they received were echoing noises. When atop of the watch tower a tone did up heave, the sound of young lad did rip from the tree.

"Dear sir's my ears are happy to hear, that you survived that night, all of us feared. For you see the dragon you thought to have slain, is stirring again, and surely life, it well regain. So I ask you to return, to that forsaken site, and finish the job you started that night. The elders await you, now hurry, you must go. The dragon is waking and our time runs slow."

With that the child vanished, was he only a dream? Was he some sort of sorcerers wicked scheme. But the men took no chances and off they did run, to the dragons grave, to make sure what they had done. If the dragon was moving what would they do, how do you kill something that's already slew? When the men arrived at the dragons tomb, the elder's gazes filled them with gloom. They knew that what the ghost child had said, was true to life, not in their heads.

"We heard tales that dragon wakes, were they true, or were they fake?" The men ask as they step to the scene, in prayer that this was all a dream.

"Yes it is, the elder said, It's what we all did dread. Even though you cut the dragons heart in twine, the evil soul is still combined."

"What do we have to do, to make sure that this dragons slays slew?"

"You must seal it away with a magic spell, cast it's soul to the bowls of hell."

The men took a deep breath at the elders words, the use of magic was thought absurd. How would they seal this dragons soul? Who would cast the spell, of what was told?.

"Where do we seek, the spell caster for which you speak?" The men asked the elder wise, to know his words were truth not lies.

"A top the mountain the caster sits, who well send this soul to the abyss. The travel well take you one full moon, you have but four till the dragon returns. So off with you now, to seek this mage, and trap this dragon in his cage."

The men with haste, speed for the hills, to find the wizard who would cast the spells. The sun was hot and slowed their pace, with time they were in a race. They reached a shelter as the sun did fade, upon a fire their eyes did gaze. Where an old man sat with eyes that were closed, long gray hair, and weathered cloths. The men approached and the man did speak,

"You've got a dragon, You want me to seal. Before once again it's power is revealed."

"But how did you know the reason we came, how could you know the dragon wasn't slain?"

The men were in shock for the old man had seen, what had happened in the valley, as if he was watching a dream.

"We've not much time, before the dragon gains life. If he dose, he'll be to powerful to be slain with a knife. So I'll use a seal and trap his soul, forever in darkness with no where to go."

The old man stood erect, as a breeze moved his hair. His eyes were like fire, but cold was his stare. He grabbed his staff, and advanced on the men, all three of them began back to the den. Once they arrived back to the filed, the elders prepared for the dragon to be sealed. The old wizard stood a top of a rock, rose high his staff, and started to talk.

"Elements aid me, Spirits revel
trap this demon with our seal.
Nightshades blossom, wolvesbain dies
into the night our voices cry.

We call on you, element wind
in case the dragon, let the seal begin.
We call on you, element wood
make the cage, that time with stood.

We call on you, element steel
form the chain, that well bound the evil.
We call on you, element fire
encase the soul, should the dragon expire
then breath it life, so it to well know
the painful torture, that it showed
to all the men it had as slaves
and who now cast him away
and end his days.

We call on you, element water
wash away the evil, and let the soul retire.
I cast you beneath, this magical seal
Your strength and your power
away from you I steal.

Forever and a day, here you will remain
trapped in this cell, never again cause pain.
Finally I call on you, My lord and god
hide this place in a blanket of fog
For who ever shall enter this dragons den
shall be forever trapped here, till time dose end.

With that the old mage, brought his staff to the ground, and off in the distance was heard a thunderous sound, a symbol appeared on the barren dry land, and then slowly faded into the sand. The crowd that had watched this, simply stood and stared, for those who would speak, were much much to scared. The wizard did then turn and look at the men, then started to speak, as he extended his hand.

"You dragon is sealed, no longer well he roam, for the earth well now house him, this seal is his home. Now it is time, for my pay for my deed, for this I command you to get down on one knee, and make me your king. For if not, then I warn you" He said with a thunderous tone. "I well spread through out the earth, six carved stones, on each well contain a part of a spell, that shall summon the dragon back from his hell, and then I shall promise you, his vengeance you'll feel, for his anger shall be massive, and you're life he shall steal."

The men were speechless, what could they do? Must they make him their king, so that dragon stays slew? Or was he just bluffing, can he do what he spoke? One man stood forward, convinced it was a joke.

"I doubt you old mage, though your power is there, I don't think you can do such a thing that you speak, I think you to feeble, to old and to weak."

The mage simply smiled and placed together his hands, six stones then surrounded him, forged from the land.

"Feeble am I, how dare you don't kneel. You've just sealed your fate, with these six stones I revel. I well cast them out to all parts of the world, till one day they well return, and once again, the dragons wings well unfurl. He well destroy this land, and everything you hold dear, you've just killed yourselves, live your life in fear."

The wizard simply faded, into a thick fog, that was covering the seal, which took the image of a bog. The men stood their ground and watched and they gazed, at the forbidding fog, till the light faded away.

Slowly the men rebuilt the town, and explored new worlds, that they had found, and slowly the night when the dragon was slain, escaped from their minds and faded away. Though a few did retain the memory of that night, of the demon, of the wizard, of the evil and the fight, But no one spoke of what happened that day, when the dragons soul was finally put away.

Little did the town know, that in under the main hall, was a group of men, that would the be the fall of all. They heard and learned of the wizards words, that would bring back the dragons soul. They knew of the stones that reversed the spell, and would bring the dragon back from hell. Every night they planned and scanned, the world for the stones that they seek, To no one else, their plans did they speak.

Years did pass, and the men grew old and weak. Their kin did grow and learn and rise, to take over their powered seats. One by one, that old men died, and with them, went that day, That the slaves were freed, and the dragon was laid away. It became a legend that was told, around a fire at night, of how the elders and wizard, put up a mortal fight. And from the tales, they formed to learning that were taught in the schools, bound in pages, the legion, of the dragon's rule.

Not only the old men's descendants, were passed on the tales, The ones that vowed to bring the dragon back, never seemed to fail, to pass on knowledge of what they knew, and where the stones were kept, they warped the minds of their kin, and filled lies in their heads.

So as long as the dragon's tale was told, of he was put away. The dragon followers would still remain, to reenact that day. But Five of the stones were found, and they thought the sixth was lost, until one day a tall dark man, onto the leaders table he tossed. A Bag of hide, that made a thump, when it hit the wood, the leader looked in his eyes, and then he understood. He picked up the bag and reached inside, and with a cry of glee, did take out the stone of six, with the last they spell they did need.

With all the stones now in their grasp, only a few things left to do. They must now locate the exact spot, for which the dragon was slew. This was a task that wasn't hard, since all the school did teach, of the day with the dragon slain, the men did place him to sleep.

The sun set fast on this cold night, and people huddled in their homes. But on this night there were a few, that in the streets did roam. The dragon followers thought this the night, to call back their lord from death, and give him what he wants the most, his captors final breath.

They knew the place was days away, but they hoped on only this. That the dragon would be so happy to be free, he would grant them all one wish. They would ask for power, to be his voice, and help him rule the land, with a heart of stone, a tongue of silver, a dragons talon and a mortal hand.

They searched for days, until they came to the place of dread. The dragon's lair, covered in the fog, that was cursed with instant death. The leader of this group, took out a stone, stood upon a rock, and began to read the poem.

"Hear me now, spirits past
I come to wake the grave
The dragon slain, I breath it life
remove this hell bound haze."

With that the fog did lift, and dissipate in the air, reviling the mark, the symbol of protection, that was the dragons lair.

The leader smiled and drew forth all the stones, the ordered them in his arms and recited the evil poems.

"Oh spirit slain of foul haste, I call to you now
breath life back to your heart, lift high your brow
cast off your chains of hell, break free your cage
rise from you fiery cell, take again the stage.

The ones that banished you, there bodies long since gone
their decedents still do live, their blood line dose go on
come back now and seek them out, let them pay for the crime
their fathers did, many years ago, heal the wounds of time."

The leader raised his hand high above his head.

"Dragon lord, I call you now, rise back from the dead
Take you life back, from those who once did you in
their souls are you, for what they did, rip them from their sin.

I command you now, rise to life, the seal I do lift
the sky is yours, this world to with as you wish
Dragon lord unfurl your wings, fly into the night
the seal is gone, I now give back all your power and might."

The leader feel to his knees, the spell did make him weak. The others tried to run to him, but were stopped dead in their feet. The ground began to shake, the dirt began to swirl, amidst the dust rose and figure, and massive wings unfurled. Across the land was heard a scream the pierced every wall, the village knew, that what they heard was deaths remorseful howl. And to the ground did fall a beast, large and red and gray, his eyes were fixed on one target, that was looking the leaders way.

The leader stood to his feet, unsure of what to do or say. The dragon made no move for him, simply stood and gazed. The leader took the chance and feel to one knee, the others did the same, making sure the dragon could see. The dragon simply looked at them, and took a deep drawn breath.

"I see there are still some, who wish a dragon lord" The dragon said with a booming tone, that echoed in the mountains and gently shook the ground.

"My lord ‘Tis we who did set you free, I know to call you Master, Darkkon you may call me. We have but one wish, for the deed we did do. Make us equal in you eyes, so we may rule this land with you."

The dragon sighed, in his voice, was a tone the men didn't like. The sound of a soldier that was giving up the fight.

"Listen to me, Sir. Darkkon I have no wish to rule. The years I lay dormant, has shown me as a fool. I now see what I did, that caused me the faith I had, I tried to control everything, power made me mad. I no longer walk that path I did, I know now only peace. I leave you now, good riddance, I retire to the east. "

The dragon turned but before he could leave the scene, Darkkon yelled in a fowl voice "COWARD IS YOU NAME!"

The dragon turned and once again locked eyes with the leaders soul, his men began to worry, as they swore to hear thunder toll.

"Did my ears hear you right? Coward did you dare to call me, The master of the earth bound lair."

"That I did, your no Master That I would ever have. You're much to scared of mortal men, to ever be a god again. I guess you liked the way, they caged you in your cell, and trapped you down in the pits of hell, with their evil earthly spell. They ripped from you, your very soul, and tore apart your heart, they turned all light into darkness, and that was just a start. They called you weak, poor and small, they laughed behind your back. Now all you have become is a lesson in a class. Your nothing more then a story told each day at noon, to a bunch of school kids, that simply sit and drool."

The dragon's wings snapped to his sides and his voice become low and deep.

"Quite your tongue, be careful of what you speak. Your right, I do wish power, I crave it just like you. This world well mine again, once I'm done with you."

The dragon leaped in the air, grabbing the leader with his claws, and flew into the sky. The leader yelled in fear and pain, and let out a mortal cry. The dragon laughed for this was what he wanted all the while, to hear the screams of pain and hate, He was still as evilly vile.

"What well you do with me?" The leader pleaded to know.

"I well drop you on the village square, so that they all well know. That I am back and no sword or spell well ever put me away, Their souls are mine as payment, for what they did that day."

"I beg you please, spare my life for I can help you with your quest, to rid those that did this. Dragon master I plead with you, do not kill me this day, let me find for you the ones you wish to slay."

"You help me, what could you do? Your simply a human, your a cowardly fool. I know who I need to seek for that day, I know the blood line of who put me away."

The dragon flew high into the sky, with his screaming victim in his talons waiting to die. The dragon stopped in mid-flight and looked down to his claws, he smiled an evil grin and let Drakkon fall. He fell through to the ground, towards death whim, when before he hit the ground ,the dragon grabbed him.

"Maybe I do have a use for you after all, we shall return to my lair and there we'll talk."

Drakkon laid in the dragons talons for one more tole, unable to speak for the fear that shook his soul. Into the mountains they did speed, the dragon had a plan indeed.

"You well be my arms and kill for me, you wanted power so let it be." In the rocks the thunder tolled. "Join me now, I shall combine at your soul."

The dragon lifted his claws up high, and darken did the sky.

"Feel my power flow into your being
Immortality life is what you are feeling
Feel my mind rip into your skull
don't try to fight me, your defense will fall.

Our hearts beat as one, as one being we become
the same blood in our veins, the same air in our lungs
where ever you are, I see what you do
who ever you are, we'll always be two.

We speak the same voice, our tongues are the same
when one gets hurt, the other feels the pain
'till I break the spell, no one can tell
welcome Sir. Drakkon, to my living hell."

Drakkon jumped to his feet off the stone, he could feel a power he had never known. He felt more alive, then ever before. He could hear every sound, even those beyond doors. He looked at the dragon, and at the same time at him. He felt like he could bend the world to his whim. And in the same voice, they both spoke with greed.

"Now they well pay, for their wickedness deeds."

Off to the village, they both did go. To teach the young descendants, fear they would never know. But little did they think that their plan would fail, but in the town they were ready to turn the tale. For one of Drakkons men did deceive him. And to the village, his plan he revealed to them.

They searched the old vault, where the history was kept. The spell that was cast, much to the dragons regret. They emptied the village, so that no one fell. When they once again, sent the dragon to hell.

Drakkon and the dragon appeared before the gates, and sneered and snarled at the men who did await.

"Your worthless old fools, do you really think. That you can't stop me, you town will sink. I am much more powerful, then when last your fathers I last met. You well pay for their crimes, as your souls I shall take. Consider it payment, for the hell I was placed.

With that the eldest of the town stood forward and spoke aloud, the spell that would surly place the dragon back in the ground.

"Elements aid me, Spirits revel
trap this demon with our seal.
Night shades blossom, wolves Bain dies
into the night our voices cry.

We call on you, element wind
in case the dragon, let the seal begin.
We call on you, element wood
make the cage, that time with stood.

We call on you, element steel
form the chain, that well bound the evil.
We call on you, element fire
encase the soul, should the dragon expire
then breath it life, so it to well know
the painful torture, that it showed
to all the men it had as slaves
and who now cast him away
and end his days.

We call on you, element water
wash away the evil, and let the soul retire.
I cast you beneath, this magical seal
Your strength and your power
away from you I steal.

Forever and a day, here you will remain
trapped in this cell, never again cause pain.
Finally I call on you, My lord and god
hide this place in a blanket of fog
For who ever shall enter this dragons den
shall be forever trapped here, till time dose end."

All the men gazed in dread, the dragon did not return back to the dead.
He merely stood with a sneer, at the men who were froze with fear.

Drakkon stepped forward, and sneered and laughed.

"You foolish mortals, my lord should snap you in half.
for even attempting, that spell you cast.
It shall not work, for it was a one time spell
to cast away souls to the depths of hell."

He turned and returned to his dragon lord
whom now had taken all he could endure.

"You all shall now pay, for your fathers mistakes
For taking my soul, they have sealed your fate.
I have returned from the grave, as it was once foretold
and now I am hungry, I shall feast on your souls."

The Dragon reached out and waved his great claw
one of the men, to ground he did fall.
his body was gray, and no air did it take
the first to have fallen, from their fathers mistake.

one by one, the men fell stone in dead
the dragon laughed, as his hunger was fed.
it seemed as if, he would succeed
to play out his plan, his evil deed.

When from the distance, a tall figure appeared draped in a cloak, at the dragon he sneered.

"Dragon of hell, I see you've returned
broken free, from your captive spell
I thought, that the time, you spent in you grave
would have taught you compassion
that your soul would be saved.

But as I witness, your dastardly plight
I see that your soul, is still as dark as the night
I give you one chance, for your freedom and soul
or I shall send you back screaming, to that fiery hole."

The dragon turned to face his new foe
convinced that this mortal,
would be destroyed in one blow.

His massive paw, he did wave as to take the soul of the stranger, ending his fate. But the stranger just stood there a grin on his face, the spell past right through him dissipating in space.

The dragon stood shocked, a hint of fear in his heart, one thing left to do, rip the mortal apart.

He sent Drakkon to kill him the stranger stood still Drakkon removed his sword and swung for the kill.

The stranger moved light lightning and stepped to the side drove a knife into Drakkon who fell to the ground and died.

Resheating his knife, to the dragon he turned fire in his eyes, hell it self did burn. he rose high his hands, and began to chant the dragons last song, to hell he was going back.

"Silence 'ye Dragon you're terror is done no more mortals for killing ends here dose your fun.

My fathers before me, did cast you away but little they knew you would return someday.

Their spell was not strong but their hearts were so true to condemn you to hell same where i'm gona send you.

Haste 'ye lord dragon your time has now come to rest your damned soul in cool cold dark ground.

your master awaits you in the bowls of hell return to him now once I finish this spell.

Wolf lark, entwine you pull you to the ground dream vines surround you make native this sound.

dreams that well haunt you of pain you did do condemning your soul to hell I send you."

The dragon screamed as the ground took him in he clawed at the trees, which would not bow to his whim

"Deeper you sink, till the ground is your home, but for only your body, I remove from you, your soul."

Then was heard a loud scream, a howl of pain, as the dragon's last claw vanished in the plane.

The stranger then walked over where the dragon did stand withdrew his knife and drew blood from his hand.

It touched the ground, and a seal did form made from his being he knew it would hold.

The men who were left, unsure what to do, watched as he to did vanish from view.

They ran to where, the battle took place neither the man nor the dragon was left any trace.

But there was a whisper that echoed in the wind.

"Let he rest here, who dose commit any sin. Their soul unrest for an eternity long

Says I, your creator, your master, your god!"
