ART CONTEST WINNERS!
September 7th, 2004

The Furtopian staff and mods would like to thank all the great Furs who participated in Furtopia's Art Contest. There were so many wonderful art pieces but each Staff/Mod was only permitted to vote on 3 pieces of artwork. The Furtopia Staff judges in this contest were WhiteShepherd, Kada-Ru, Benjamin, Calico Panthra, Ante and Savaaha.

Here are the results you have all been waiting for!

First Place: 46 points is "Conflicting Emotions" by Zarathus

COMMENTS:

WhiteShepherd - "Very nice fine pincle detail. You can feel a lot of mood in this one."

Benjamin - Nice attention to detail. Reminds of me when I used to use pen and go insane on the details. :XP

Kada-Ru - Though this was done in pencil I truly love all the fine detailing and the conflicting emotions I see when looking at this piece! Great job!

Ante - sure it isn't in color, but it's insanely detailed and I don't see anything wrong with it.

Calico Panthra - the detail on this picture compleately blew me away. the skill level is insane and made me go check out more of zarathus's work. i like the fact that its not in color.. i think color would have taken away from the intensity of the picture.

Savaaha - as ante said is not color but the details are totally amazing!!

Second Place: 36 points is "A_Rosy_Future_for_Dream" by Calzephyr.

COMMENTS:

WhiteShepherd - "I love the way the soft warm colors play into such a pleasent mood while the detail is quite stunning! Exelcent piece! :)"

Benjamin - Lovely colours. It's also nice to see furs using real media.

Kada-Ru- I found this piece to be very peaceful and natural. I could see myself as the equine strolling down that path and enjoying the scenery!

Ante- It's very complete looking, semi-detailed, pretty good looking.

Third Place: 16 points is "Kiri ravenheart" by Ulario.



COMMENTS:

WhiteShepherd - A nice dream like creativity with the dragon being a part of the clouds. Nice effect."

Benjamin - A nicely drawn Chakat, by the looks of it. Good stuff!

Ante - Shading is kinda bleh, not like I could do better, but still. Nicely drawn, the shadow under her is ok, I guess. That photoshop brush used for the grass turned out ok except for near the back.
